SLAMMERS BASEBALL CLUB

The Slammers are a highly competitive baseball program that competes against some of the Bay Area’s top programs. The Slammers have been around since 2003 and have been a 680 Diablo League (680diabloleague.com) participant since its inception. The Slammers objective is to develop fundamentally sound baseball players who will compete at the high school levels and beyond. The Slammers coaching staff emphasizes development through one-on-one instruction emphasizing a teaching environment during practices and games. The Slammers have a great reputation throughout the Bay Area and have successfully guided players through their high school careers.

BASEBALL COACHING PHILOSOPHY

Our philosophy of coaching is inspired by the philosophy of teaching. We teach so that our players can teach themselves. We encourage our players to develop a lifelong commitment to personal growth through their own experiences. As  coaches  we  are facilitators  of  learning, skillfully helping  players  understand  their  objectives  and assisting  them  in  finding  ways  to achieve them on their own.  In order to accomplish this we strive to emphasize the importance of the fundamentals, skill acquisition and skill mastery. In order to meet this responsibility we must be prepared to coach in a diverse environment, accomplished by emphasizing these five concepts of coaching:

Knowledge of the Sport – The coaches have years of experience

Enthusiasm – We will encourage a fun atmosphere

Motivation – We will push each player to their maximum capabilities

Empathy – The coaching staff have been in the player's shoes before

Communication – Positive communication equals a strong relationship

MISSION STATEMENT

To develop baseball players who are dedicated to achieving excellence in the classroom, on the field, and in the community.
